 We’re not sure what part of Eve to focus on first. It might be
the location, in the heart of Las Vegas’ newest casino and
resort, CityCenter. It could be the celebrity owner, Eva
Longoria Parker, the vixen Gabrielle Solis on “Desperate
Housewives” who’s married to San Antonio Spurs star Tony Parker,
who makes appearances on occasion. Or it could be the idea of a
nightclub set on top of a chic restaurant in a more intimate
setting than the other nightclub behemoths on the Strip.
Eve certainly gave Vegas nightlife a boost in a new direction,
pairing the celebrity with the location with a lavish setting
and a celebrity chef restaurant to boot. The club sits on the
second level of Crystals at CityCenter with views of The Park
and porte cochere at Aria and stunning scenes from the Strip
through glass windows, making it one of the hottest and most
sought-after locations in town.
 A
50-foot arched ceiling makes the intimate 8,000-square-foot club
decked out in black and gold seem more expansive than it is. But
don’t think that means that you’ll be sitting on your neighbor’s
lap. Booths set around the circular dance floor give you plenty
of room to sprawl, while the dance floor itself has ample space
to bust a move. Giant video screens surround the dance floor to
bring the music — a mix of hip-hop, Top 40 and dance — alive. DJ
Hollywood spins on Wednesday nights while DJ ROB takes over the
boards on Saturday nights. Go-go dancers on podiums get the
action going in their scanty outfits. Two bars off to the side
make for easy access to drinks.
Longoria Parker is familiar
with the nightlife industry with her club Kiss, another pairing
with a similar Beso restaurant, in Hollywood. Since opening just
before New Year’s Eve, celebrities such as Kristin Cavallari
from “The Hills,” Kim Kardashian from “Keeping Up with the Kardashians”
and Kendra Wilkinson from “The Girls Next Door” have already
hosted nights at the club, while Wilmar Valderrama from “That
’70s Show” and a regular in Vegas celebrated his birthday here.
Special guest such as singer Kelis singing her hit “Acapella” on
special nights amp up the celebrity factor here.
Beforehand, dinner at Beso
(Spanish for “kiss”), can make the transition from dining to
partying easy. Celebrity chef Todd English prepares Latin fare,
including ceviche and cuts of aged beef, at this steakhouse with
an open kitchen. Be sure to check out the custom-designed
chandeliers handmade from the Swarovski crystal curtain created
for the 2009 Academy Awards on your way in to Eve.
