Few places are
hotter than Las Vegas in August and the nightlife just fuels the
fire.
All throughout August,
Rain inside the Palms promises to keep the bodies
moving as the famed DJ AM makes his home there every Friday night.
Also, thanks to a contract extension, techno super DJ Paul Oakenfold
will be busting beats at Perfecto on Saturday nights at
Rain until
2010. Speaking of the Palms, the UK’s Mark Lewis spins his brand of
electronic dance music at
Moon on Sunday the 2nd. On the 5th,
actress Shannen Doherty of 90210 and Charmed fame, hosts Way Back
Wednesdays, a weekly 80’s themed party at
LAX. Legendary hip hop
star Busta Rhymes will also be at
LAX performing live and promoting
his highly anticipated album “Back on My B.S.” on Friday the 7th. LAX boasts another live performance by Canadian rocker/soulstress
Suzie McNeil the following Sunday night. The 8th also has sexpot
Jenny McCarthy hosting the party at
Pure.
Way Back Wednesdays makes
another appearance on Wednesday the 12th,this time
presented by actor and television personality Emmanuel Lewis.
Duos seem to be the theme on the 15th with Australian
electro-rock duo (also sisters) The Veronicas, jamming out at
Pure.
The same Saturday night
LAX deals
hip hop fans two pair as The Cool Kids and fellow duo Clipse share
the stage. Saturday the 22nd, rock group Daughtry,
headed by American Idol’s 2006 finalist Chris Daughtry, will be
cranking up their speakers at Pure. If it’s Wednesday, then
there’s definitely some 80’s music bumping at
LAX.
Way Back Wednesdays has actor Todd Bridges hosting on the 26th.
It’s never too hot to wear boots with the fur when rapper Flo Rida
is around. He’ll be ushering out the summer on the VIP stage
of the white room at
Pure on
Satruday the 29th. Michael Jackson fans will want to check out a
tribute to the late King of Pop held at the Pearl Theatre inside the
Palms, also on the 29th. Proceeds will be donated to VH1’s
Save the Music Foundation.
