Cirque du Soleil
is one of Vegas's biggest success stories. This French-Canadian
performance troupe now has 5 different shows being performed on stages
in Vegas, and they all rank among the city's most popular shows!
In residence at
the Treasure Island Hotel and Casino, Mystere was the original
Las Vegas Cirque du Soleil show. It was first performed in 1993 and,
according to many Cirque du Soleil fans, remains the best of the
bunch. Mystere perfectly showcases the unique mix of
avant-garde performance art and incredible acrobatics that made Cirque
du Soleil so famous, and audiences pack the seats at Treasure Island Mystere Theater night after night!

Mystere
is divided into 9 very unique acts, each with its own memorable
characters. Costumes and makeup play a big role in creating the world
of Mystere. The bright feathers of the fire birds, outlandish
pink suit of the emcee no one listens to, and backward masks of the
Chinese pole climbers help bring these (and many other) characters to
life.
Mystere's
incredibly talented cast will take your breath away with their
astonishing displays of strength, flexibility, and balance. The
aerial high bar act features an ensemble of world-class gymnasts who
effortlessly fly and spin 40 feet above the stage. The trampoline and
Korean plank performers move with astonishing speed and grace, and the
cube master appears to defy gravity during his unique act. A definite
highlight is the bungee trapeze artists, who move with such grace and
unison for people tethered to elastic bands. Just because it's artsy
doesn't mean Mystere isn't funny, too. The pesky clowns and
over-grown baby will have you rolling in the aisles with laughter.
The music of
Mystere is also quite enjoyable. A eclectic group of musicians
and singers provide the show's soundtrack. Rock and roll, funk, and
African tribal beats contribute in setting the mood for different
acts, and the big bangs of the giant Taiko drum are essential in
opening and closing the show.
Evening
performances are at 7 PM or 9:30 PM, and there is a Sunday matinée at
4:30 PM. Thursdays and Fridays the Mystere cast take a
well-deserved break, and there are no shows.
Whether you're a
seasoned Cirque du Soleil ticket buyer or this is your very first
time, you're sure to fall in love with Mystere.
