As
the 2011 summer season appoches in Las Vegas, locals and visitors
alike shed their ties and dresses for flip flops and skimpy bikinis
and make their way in droves to the many fabulous
pool parties that
have reinvented the "daylife"
atmosphere in Las Vegas. Imagine all the opulence, celebrities,
debauchery and VIP entertainment of the
Las Vegas
nightclub scene, now take away the clothes and add plenty of
booze and water. These famous pool parties are nightclubs in the
sun! But make no mistake, the lines are longer and hotter, the VIPs
are abundant, and the prices for entrance and private space rival
the hottest nightclubs on the strip.
VIP hosted
entrance is the only way to do the
pools if you want
to get in quickly. VIP helps you bypass the long lines without the
risk of waiting hours, only to find that the party has reached
maximum occupancy as soon as you near the entrance.
Returning to the pool party scene this summer are plenty of old
favorites.
Rehab at the
Hard Rock
is back in full swing and still promoting the reality show based on
the antics of staff and guests alike.
Tao Beach over at the
Venetian
is an extension of the ever popular
Tao nightclub,
and a favorite of celebrity clientele.
MGM Grand
brings back
Wet Republic, who promises to “make war on nightlife”
this summer. And Las Vegas favorite for their accommodating prices,
the Palms
pool and bungalows is ready for action with their
Ditch Fridays
party, which always boasts great beer sponsors and live concerts.
For those of you who despise tan lines, or clothing in general,
there are also a few European style pools where tops are optional,
Bare at the Mirage is by far the most popular choice. New to the
pool scene this summer are Aria’s
Liquid and the
Encore
Beach Club. Both hotels made splashy entrances to the Las Vegas
strip this year, and are no doubt hoping to do the same with their daylife amenities.
Liquid is backed by the King of Nightlife, the
Light Group, so expect much of the same over the top extravagance
that you would find in one of their clubs.
Encore
Beach Club is set
to be unveiled to the public on Memorial Day weekend, those holy
days which truly mark the beginning of summer, with resident DJ Kaskade at the turntables. There has been plenty of buzz about
Encore’s
venue which is the Beach Club by day, and
Surrender nightclub and pool by night. Yes that’s right, the
pool turns into a club as the sun sets and the pina coladas set in.
VIP Entry, Cabanas &
Daybeds
First on the list is securing you and
your friend’s entrance to these exclusive oasis parties. Ever see
the line outside of a popular
Las Vegas nightclub? Now imagine all
those people standing in 100 degree weather, most likely after a few
drinks, all trying to gain entrance to the same place. The door men
and bouncers at Las
Vegas pool parties love to make people wait and look forward to
denying entrance to over eager patrons.
LavishVegas can secure your
VIP entry
that will allow you to breeze by the sweating bodies and save you
hours of valuable tanning and drinking time. Entrance fees vary
depending on the weekend.
VIP hosted entry and cover runs about $70
- $200 for guys and $40 - $75 for ladies. Note, that the price
usually goes up throughout the day because most pools reach their
occupancy levels and have to close their doors due to fire marshal
codes. If you are with a group of friends and ready to splurge you
may wish to secure a private space, much like in a nightclub.
Cabanas, good for about 10 people, and daybeds, good for about 5
people, and are available at all pool locations.
How Does
Cabana & Daybed Pricing Work?
Whether you want a cabana, daybed or just a lounger, you need to
commit to a "minimum food and beverage spend", after that you need
to add 20% gratuity, 8.1% tax and your host may expect a good tip
for securing your reservation.
Cabana prices range anywhere from $300 spend for a weekday spot at
the Palms,
to $10,000 on a headlining weekend at Rehab or Wet Republic. The
amenities in these private spaces rival the best hotel rooms on the
strip. There are mini fridges, spa treatments, plasma TVs/DVD
players, plush robes, XBOX and PS3s. When you pay for a cabana you
are definitely
buying more than space! Daybeds are smaller and may not shield you
from the sun, but are still a good bet if you are with a small group
so you always have your own space when the pool fills up. Daybed
prices range from mid week specials of $100 spend to $2500 for bank
holiday weekends. Because these fabulous
pool parties tend to fill
up quickly, so do the prime locations around the pool. Expect to pay
more for a decent spot in the sun. Prices change weekly depending on
what celebrity is hosting the party or if there is a headlining DJ.
Holiday weekends are always more expensive because the visitor rate
increases. These spaces are always in high demand, despite their
seemingly excessive price tags, so be sure to
secure your
reservation through LavishVegas so you can avoid the lines and be
greeted with pool party serenity upon arrival. |
