Las Vegas is home to some of the most brutal terrain, perfect for off-road racing.Regarded as the \u201cGreat American Off-Road Race\u201d, the Mint 400 is probably the most glamorous and popular off-road race in the US. First run in 1967 as a public relations event promoting the Mint Hotel\u2019s annual deer hunt, it eventually became a must-race event for professional drivers and celebrities world-wide. Indianapolis 500 winner Parnelli Jones, movie star James Garner, astronaut Gordon Cooper, among others, once competed in this legendary race.
\nIn 1988 the Mint Hotel was sold and the race was ended; however, in 2008 the modern era of the Mint 400 started, since then the race has returned to its former glory and continues to grow every year.
\nThe 2015 edition of the Mint 400 will be held from March 11th-15th, with most of the events taking place Downtown, and all the racing just 30 minutes south of Las Vegas. Fans, spectators and Vegas visitors just curious to see what off-road racing is all about are encouraged to be part of the festivities open to the public. Everybody is guaranteed to have a great time during this amazing race, whether you are a hardcore enthusiast or a newcomer; here we present you a brief guide to some of the highlight events:<\/p>\n

Vehicle Parade & Kick-off party \u2013 March 11th
\nLocation: The Strip
\nDrivers take their race vehicles for a spin along the world famous Strip. The parade starts at the South Point Hotel ending at Freemont Street where everyone is invited to party.
\nWhy you shouldn\u2019t miss it: Bigger and better than NASCAR\u2019s parade!<\/p>\n

Miss Mint Competition \u2013 March 12th
\nLocation: Downtown
\nEight gorgeous ladies make it to the final in Las Vegas where one of them is selected by the judges to be 2015 Miss Mint.

Pit Crew Challenge Final \u2013 March 12th
\nLocation: Downtown
\nWatch the professional pit crews of the most popular teams try to beat each other changing the tires of their race vehicles.
\nWhy you shouldn\u2019t miss it: It is impressive to see how fast they can change those huge tires.<\/p>\n

Tech & Contingency \u2013 March 13th
\nLocation: Downtown
\nIt can only be described as a \u201chuge party\u201d where you can see race vehicles, professional drivers and even some celebrities up close.
\nWhy you shouldn\u2019t miss it: Freemont Street looks even better packed with race vehicles and a great atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Primm Valley Mint 400 Start\/Finish Line & the Mint 400 Experience \u2013 March 14th
\nLocation: Primm
\nFans and enthusiasts will be able to spectate from the prime position next to the Main Pit area and Start\/Finish line, where vehicles will fly through a table top jump. Also, located right next to the Start\/Finish line, the Mint 400 Experience will feature interactive displays by race partners, food, memorabilia and more! All right behind Buffalo Bill\u2019s Resort & Casino.
\nWhy you shouldn\u2019t miss it: Adrenaline is pumping and everybody wants to win the biggest off-road race in the US.<\/p>\n

The 2015 edition promises to be the biggest one yet. So, if you will be in Vegas March 11th \u2013 15th this is something you shouldn\u2019t miss, and if you were looking for a good excuse to take a trip to Vegas, this is it!<\/p>\n
