Las Vegas Limo Rental Tips
A company may have the lowest hourly rate but you might have to rent the monster for twice as long as you need it.
Every limo company operates and sets prices differently. Limos large enough to carry more than 8 people usually have a two hour minimum. Some limo companies may have a two-to-three hour minimum over the weekend no matter what.
You would like to have something to drink in your limo ride but you get sticker shock at the Las Vegas Liquor store.
Strip-side convenience stores sell alcohol at a big premium, usually 300 percent higher than the norm. If you bring your own booze before stepping into the limo or stopping on the Strip, you can save big. Some limo companies will comp your group champagne if you book through LavishVegas. If you and your friends don’t like champagne and it’s inconvenient to BYOB in advance, you can always stop at a liquor store a few minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip. This may take an extra ten to fifteen minutes, but trust us, it’s worth it. Every chauffeur should know where the best liquor stores are.
Extra fees: What are they? And how much are they?
Fees can fluctuate but you are typically looking at: 3% excise tax (aka Passenger Carrier Tax), a $3 fuel surcharge, an 8.1% sales tax.
Want to stop off for 15 minutes at the Vegas sign or Bellagio fountains? Yes, there might be a fee for that too.
A few companies will charge you to stop at the most popular photo locations. These fees are waived for groups booked through LavishVegas, unless stated otherwise.
How far in advance should you book your limo service?
Limos large enough to carry more than 8 passengers should be booked at least two weeks in advance. Holiday weekends and prom and wedding weekends (spring and early summer) will require you book further in advance. Three-to-nine passenger rides can normally be booked with just a few days notice.
Is it possible to cancel my limo rental?
Most companies will allow you to cancel your booking if you notify them 24 hours in advance.
What should you tip your chauffeur?
We recommend a 15 to 20% tip for your driver. You can have this put on your card at the beginning of the night. While it doesn’t happen often, if you tip upfront, be wary of chauffeurs with their hand out at the end of the night looking to get double tipped.
