Jabbawockeez

Winning the inaugural season of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew was only the beginning for the Jabbawockeez. Since taking residency on the Strip in 2010 the dance crew has continued to reach new heights. Regardless of which venue Jabbawockeez calls home, their unrelenting swagger is exuded in every move they make. For some show-goers, the Jabbawockeez experience begins with finding a masked Jabbawockee roaming the hotel. Unlike other resident performers of the Strip, the Jabbawockeez meet the people where they are. Jabbawockeez debuted at the Monte Carlo Resort with the production “MÜS.I.C." In May 2013 they moved to the Luxor Hotel for their show “Jabbawockeez PRiSM”, and in November 2015 they moved to the MGM Grand for JREAMZ. Their current show at MGM is, TIMELESS.

Once inside the Jabbawockeez Theater, you are in their world. Thanks to the variety of seating, there isn't a bad seat in the house. Seating stage left provides a closer vantage point since the stage is not traditionally oriented to the audience. While perhaps unusual, doing this adds a distinctive perception of depth and magnifies the performers' various styles of dance-- breakdancing, hip-hop, and popping.

The production is centered around contemporary dance and successfully combines comedy, and drama through an audiovisual story that never ceases to amaze. Jabbawockeez places the show's heart in the viewer’s interpretation, even appearing to defy gravity by taking advantage of forced perspective. This sets Jabbawockeez apart from other shows on the Strip. Narratives or lyrics anchor other productions; giving audiences little room for interpretation. The latest and greatest Jabbawockeez production at MGM does the opposite. The masked dancers even withhold expression, allowing the viewer to write the story.
