The acclaimed work of film director Baz Luhrmann hits the stage in “For the Record: Baz,” which will arrive in Las Vegas on Friday, June 19th, for a run at Light Nightclub in the Mandalay Bay. Luhrmann’s films are famously larger than life and this new show promises to be the same.
Cirque du Soleil Theatrical will produce the cabaret-style show based on the Luhrmann-directed films: “Moulin Rouge,” “The Great Gatsby,” “Romeo and Juliet,” and “Strictly Ballroom.” The production will also be accompanied by a live six-member band performing such modern hits as “Crazy in Love,” “Kissing You,” and “Love is in the Air.” As the soundtrack plays, iconic scenes from Luhrmann’s films will be recreated on stage in what promises to be an exhilarating cornucopia of musical theatre.
“For the Record: Baz” comes to Las Vegas by way of Los Angles, where the production has been a smash hit since 2013. Through Luhrmann’s films, the audience skips around the world and through time. The original LA cast opens the show and includes accomplished performers Ginifer King, Constantine Rousouli, and Ciaran McCarthy. Additionally, big Hollywood names like Rumer Willis and Evan Rachel Wood are slated to guest star.
Stick around after the show, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, as the Light Nightclub segways into its usual rambunctious self with dancing, music and performances late into the night.
Tickets start at only $55 and can be purchased online soon. Don’t miss this revolutionary entertainment spectacle coming to Las Vegas on June 19th.
