Planning best friends bachelor party for Sept 8-11 2016. Currently have 13 attending. Looking for a hotel on strip or close to it. Looking for help with hotel. Need one suite room and then probably 5-6 more standard rooms ideally with 2 beds each. Want a nice clean room but nothing too fancy. Standard rooms need to be in the $200 range. Suite will obviously be more but not looking for a fancy penthouse. Looking for recommendations for other activities as well. Possible gun range trip. Suites Expert
As two of your nights will be weekend nights, that will impact the price of your hotel room, and availability of suites. I would suggest MGM Grand Suites as a good choice for you. The property has a large variety of bars, Hakkassan, which is one of the largest clubs in Las Vegas, and has a diverse number of restaurants which range in price from a food court, to 5 star.
Regarding the rooms and suites at the MGM. The Grand Queen room would fit you well. It was renovated in 2013, so it won’t feel old. It features HDMI inputs, USB charging ports, automatic blinds, and a mini bar. Despite being a base room the bathroom isn’t super tiny which is also a plus, as many hotels in this price range will have very small bathrooms. MGM Grand has a variety of suites, from junior suites which are basically one large room (Executive, Tower Spa, City View) to true suites/penthouses such as the City View Penthouse, Skyline Marquee, Skyline Terrace Suite. MGM also features Skylofts and the Mansion which are ultra high roller suites. You didn’t give a budget for the hang out suite, however, as you only have 13 people attending, the Penthouse and above suites would easily accommodate you. If you can swing between $550-$750 a night before tax and resort fee the Skyline Marquee Suite would be a great fit. It has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and if you ask for one facing the airport, a pool table. The ones facing away from the airport have a large dining table instead. If your budget can stretch a little beyond that, look into a 1 Bedroom Skyloft. These come with butler service, access to The Mansion dining room, and the room is amazing. Two stories with 1.5 baths, an immersion chamber shower, and 24 foot ceilings.

Thanks for the information. We were considering the <span style=”color: #222222; font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12.8px; line-height: normal;”>Marriott Chateau. We can get a 2BR 12525 sq ft room for $323 a night. How would the suites at the MGM compare to that?</span>

The MGM Grand and the Marriott Grand Chateau are two very different types of properties. The MGM is a full service resort with numerous dining, drinking options and one of the largest casinos on The Strip. It is a place that you really wouldn’t need to leave to get the full Vegas experience. The same can be said for almost any of the Strip resorts. Marriott Grand Chateau is a timeshare property, so you will find that onsite amenities are much lesser. For example MGM has one of the largest pool complexes in Las Vegas, along with a day club Wet Republic. Marriott GC will have a pool but it will be more like a regular hotel pool.
The MGM rooms will be more luxurious as well. Bascially MGM is a property you can really only experience in Las Vegas. The Marriott, while being very nice, I know I have stayed in many Marriotts, can be found in almost any city in America. If you look at both side by side, you will see how the suites are marketed towards different travelers. I will say the one plus of the Marriott is the kitchen, but ultimately I doubt you would be cooking much while in Vegas. The kitchens are there primarily for timeshare guests as many are families who do like to cook their own meals.
A good compromise for you might be The Signature at MGM. These three towers are condo hotels. Many of the rooms/suites have balconies. You could get a few Deluxe Suites which are approx 550 sq/ft and feature a king bed and a queen sofa bed and then an approx 950 sq/ft 1 Bedroom Balcony Suite for your party. This suite will have a kitchen, if that matters. Guests of The Signature have their own pool, plus get free access to MGM Grand’s huge pool. You are about a 5-10 minute walk, depending on which tower you are in to the MGM Grand. The walk is indoors, some of it has moving sidewalks.

You could book several Tower Deluxe Queen rooms and one Deluxe Tower Premier Suite to hold your party in. The Deluxe Tower Premier is approx 1,200 sq/ft with floor to ceiling windows. It is clocking in around $141-$285 per night plus tax and resort fee.
Plus, by booking with MGM you can take advantage of Mlife Rewards, which provides line passes, comps, and other things after you spend/gamble enough. Staying at an MGM property also allows you to room charge from any other MGM property. A nice feature vs having to hand over your credit card all the time.

Thanks for your help. We are leaning towards the MGM Skyline Marquee as our base along with 5 standard rooms. We like the layout and that it has 2 bedrooms. I checked out the Luxor site and it appears the large tower suite only has 1 bedroom. Is that accurate? I was also unable to check Luxor rates due to site maintenance but will try again later.
Do you assist with booking the rooms or should I do that direct?
