One thing is for sure–Vegas is a party town. And if anyone knows how to party, Jimmy Buffett does. Since 2011, visitors to the Flamingo Las Vegas resort have been treated to a taste of the signature sun, sand, and surf lifestyle that embodies the pop singer.
While Buffett’s popular chain of Margaritaville casual dining restaurants and hotels continues to thrive on a variety of latitudes, the Vegas location offers so much more than just cheeseburgers in paradise. A 15,000 square foot casino accompanies the restaurant and “5 O’ Clock Somewhere Bar” with talented “flair” bartenders slinging a wide variety of tasty concoctions to help you hang on.
The Drinks
It wouldn’te be a Jimmy Buffett establishment without a myriad of tall, frozen cocktails available 24/7 at the bar. Margaritaville has an impressive selection of margaritas (of course), including the tropical-flavored Last Mango in Paris. But the selections don’t stop there. They also carry lots of different beers, liquors, and wines, including a special menu of “Boat Drinks.” If you want to get your buzz on with some flavor, order the “One Particular Harbor” which is a mix of pineapple juice and blueberry pomegranate purée with a generous amount of rum in the mix.
Margaritaville Casino
Try your luck at one of the slot machines, ranging from penny to dollar slots, or belly up to a table game. In addition to the standard Blackjack, Roulette, and craps, Margaritaville has Let-it-ride, 3-card poker, and Pai Gow. The specialty table felt features references to Buffett’s songs, so fans of his music will enjoy hunting for hints as they play. The “Come” bet on the craps table, for instance, is renamed “Come Monday” at the Margaritaville casino, after his famous song.
