Mandalay Bay Host a Three-Day Festival

LAS VEGAS – The Mandalay Bay has announced plans to host the exciting 3-day craft beer and barrel festival called the “Las Vegas Beer and Barrel Project!” The festival will be hosted by Mandalay Bay in a partnership with Back Bar USA. The festival is expected to steal the show and be the center of attention in Las Vegas from Friday, August 28 through Sunday, August 30.

The “Mandalay Beach Craft Beer and Barrel Festival” is expected the headline the event and will be held at Mandalay Bay from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Guests will be treated to the some of the world’s best beers, as well as award-winning cuisine by Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino’s top chefs at dozens of specially designed spirits and craft beer barrel stations.

The Director of Food & Beverage at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino’s and Nevada’s first female Certified Cicerone®, Sarah Johnson, will be hosting the whole event. The “Las Vegas Beer and Barrel Project” also features a number of weekend seminars and mixers to celebrate the joy and craft of brewing.

Tickets are available for purchase at the website of the Las Vegas Beer and Barrel Project and cost just $75 per person.

Here’s a detailed schedule for the weekend’s events.

Friday, Aug. 28 [7:30 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.]

VIP Reception and Pop-Up Pub Experience, hosted by Sarah Johnson, and held at the Shanghai Lilly. Entrance to the event will be limited to VIP all-access ticket holders only. The event features live music, food and beer pairings, and conversations with guest brewers, distillers, chefs and industry VIPs.
Saturday, Aug. 29

[1 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.]

The Seminars & Panel Discussions include:

  • Beer Got Your Tongue” featuring brew master Jared Rouben of Moody Tongue Brewing Company
  • Sour Beers” featuring Patrick Rue of The Bruery and Jonathan Buford of Arizona Wilderness Brewing Company
  • State Of  The Industry” featuring Paul Gatza of the Brewers Association, Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker Brewing Company, and Nikos Ridge of Ninkasi Brewing Company
  • Beer Cocktails” featuring the Wirtz Beverage experts, Andrew Pollard and Michael Shetler.

Beer For Breakfast” will be held at Fleur featuring the noted French Chef, Hubert Keller. Guests will be treated to gourmet bites, entrées, desserts and beer pairings, all selected by Sarah Johnson. Tickets are available at www.lvbeerbarrelproject.com and cost $50 per person.
