Palms Review

Palms resort is the premier example of how good an off-Strip hotel and casino can and should be. No matter what size room you get, you'll enjoy a great view of the Strip or the mountains in the distance. Naturally, the suites offer some of the swankest experiences, with corner Junior suites offering truly spectacular views and Fantasy suites offering – well, almost anything you could hope for, really.
Las Vegas Travel Guides
Entertainment
The entertainment here is a welcome change from the Strip casinos usual in-house performers in enormous theaters. The Pearl concert theater is one of the best venues in Las Vegas, with the farthest seats from the stage a miniscule 120 feet away, and amazing acoustics to boot. This theater gets some of the best acts that come to Vegas, making the Palms a popular concert destination. In a further divide from the glitz of the Strip, the Palms even offers that most prosaic of pleasures – a fourteen screen movie theater where you can sit in the dark and recover from a long night with a nice easy to follow action movie.
Restaurants
The Palms no doubt competes with Strip casinos when it comes to gourmet dining and first-class nightclubs, however. Celebrity chef Kerry Simon heads up the Simon Restaurant and Lounge, where you can find delicious organic American food overlooking the swimming pool. N9NE Steakhouse offers a champagne and caviar bar in addition to prime cuts of beef. Alize features rich French fare, and those who prefer a wider selection will find a nice spread at the Bistro Buffet.
Nightlife
The Fantasy Tower takes you up to a great view courtesy of three different spaces: the Nove Italiano restaurant, and the Playboy Club and Moon nightclubs. The fabulously decorated Nove offers delicious Italian food and a fantastic selection of wines and unique cocktails, and if you eat there, you're welcome to take the elevator up to the clubs above. The Playboy Club is the only of its kind in America, and features the mix of classy surroundings, interesting people, and attractive, barely-clothed ladies with bunny ears that you've come to expect from Hugh Hefner's empire. Take the escalator up to Moon for darker lighting, a more intense dance floor, and a killer view from the deck.
Ghost Bar and Rain wrap up the Palms' great selection of clubs, with rotating DJs and enormous dance floors. Be sure to check who's playing where, as these are popular clubs for celebrities and the after parties they bring with them. With entertainment this good, who needs Las Vegas Boulevard anyway?
