Mandalay Bay Review

Mandalay Bay is a gorgeous, rambling resort with a subtle Polynesian theme. Boasting eleven acres of outdoor fun with a tropical water park, many pools and a bona fide beach. The rooms are luxurious and modern, with every amenity and floor to ceiling windows that allow you to view paradise from within.
Las Vegas Travel Guides
Attractions
The hotel has something for everyone, from their exquisite spa to the amazing high end shopping. Visit the Shark Reef, which is teeming with sharks, eels, sea turtles, stingrays, monitor lizards and alligators.
The casino has every conceivable table game, video game and slot machine, as well as a beautiful sports book and a busy poker room.
Restaurants
Mandalay Bay resort boasts fifteen restaurants and some world renowned chefs. Chef Charlie Palmer’s Aureole; Mix, the French/American restaurant located at the top of THEhotel, with Chef Alain Ducasse; Lupo, Wolfgang Puck’s Italian ristorante; and House of Blues, with its wonderful Southern/Creole/Cajun menu are just a few of the amazing culinary experiences waiting for you!
Bars
You might want to try Red Square with its Continental/Russian theme and its famous selection of caviar. And either before or after dinner there, consider visiting Minus 5, the frozen ice bar that offers over two hundred frozen vodkas and cocktails. You can even bring the kids, for they can order “mocktails” and enjoy this unusual experience with you. Only in Las Vegas can you surf in the afternoon and enjoy cocktails in an igloo that evening! Imagine stepping out of the Las Vegas three digit heat into five degrees below zero! You don’t have to come dressed for it…the bar will provide you with a parka and warm gloves. The vodka may be five below, but you will enjoy a balmy twenty-three degree temperature (Fahrenheit). Your drink will always stay cold, as it will be poured into a glass carved from ice that came from pure New Zealand water. The bar, glasses, and all furniture are made of…you guessed it…ice. The ice sculptures (think of the midnight buffet on a cruise ship) are replaced every six to eight weeks.
Entertainment & Nightlife
For the best Cirque du Soleil entertainment, see The ONE. Mandalay Bay has a twelve thousand seat arena for special events like boxing matches and concerts. There are also beach-side concerts and the House of Blues club, a number of late night bars as well as the world class Light nightclub.
The Mix Lounge, on top of THEhotel, is a great night spot where you can enjoy the view from the 64th floor balcony or reserve a table inside. For a breathtaking view of the Strip and great music spun by two of the best DJs (Frankie 808 and P-Nut) this is the place to go!
